Projects

I have been with the Maydays since 2007 as a performer and was a Director until stepping down in 2020. We are one of the longest running improv companies in the UK and we offer acclaimed performances and life-changing tuition in improvisation. Our current shows are Confessions, Tonight's Top Story, The Fringe Show and our flagship show, Happily Never After – a full musical theatrical experience based on the works on Tim Burton. 

We run regular classes in London and have our own Brighton based improv school. We also work with many organisations to bring them Improvisation-based training that develops skills including listening, communication, leadership, trust, innovation and creativity. 

The late great Jason Chin described us as "England's vanguard of long-form improvisation." In my dreams we’d be described as the improviser’s improviser.

The Nursery theatre is dedicated to the growth of Improvisation in London and works to legitimise and promote improvisation, as an artistic form and a way of thinking and living. 

We produce shows, run classes and jams, rent rehearsal rooms and produce and broadcast shows and material online. 

The Nursery creates diverse opportunities for people to take part in improvisation and creates the highest quality work so that people want to do so.

I'm a former artistic director of the Nursery having stepped back in 2021 for parental leave and am currently teaching and doing the occasional panel or show.

Open your mouth and Sing is my musical improvisation specialist project with Joe Samuel, the Maydays musical director and my best bud.

We have been teaching and performing musical improvised comedy together for over 10 years now. Our passion is getting people to just open their mouth and sing, particularly in cases when someone once told them to stand in the back line of the school choir and mime.

We think that is bullshit - everyone deserves a voice. Our dedicated website contains some of our stories, blogs, pictures and podcasts relating to our experiences with music and musical improv.

In 2018 I was lucky enough to represent the UK in the EU funded ‘Our Lives’ project. An international theatre project featuring 28 artists from the countries of the EU. 

The four co organising partners – Gorilla Theater (Germany), Kolektiv Narobov/Zavod Federacija (Slovenia), Combats Absurdes (France) and Česká improvizační liga (Czech Republic) – are theatres devoted to exploring and developing the method of theatrical improvisation and creating improvisational theatre productions. 
They joined forces in order to artistically attack the topic of lives and living in the EU, to develop the art form further and to give improvisational theatre production support and bigger international visibility.
